Line Cook (Part-Time) – Filipino Cuisine

Job Description

HiFi Kitchen is a Filipino-inspired neighborhood restaurant in Historic Filipinotown focused on thoughtful food, community, and culture. We’re looking for a dependable Line / Prep Cook who takes pride in their work, communicates clearly, and helps keep the kitchen running smoothly.

This role is ideal for someone who can move between prep and service, stay organized, follow standards, and work clean. We’re a small team, so reliability, accountability, and consistency matter just as much as cooking ability.

Responsibilities

• Prep proteins, vegetables, sauces, and garnishes
• Set up and break down station for service
• Cook and plate menu items according to recipe and presentation standards
• Maintain proper labeling, rotation, and storage
• Keep station and kitchen clean, stocked, and organized
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards
• Support teammates during service and assist with closing duties
• Complete prep and cleaning tasks during slower periods

Qualifications

• Previous line cook and/or prep cook experience preferred
• Able to work cleanly, efficiently, and with urgency
• Reliable attendance and clear communication
• Able to follow recipes, systems, and kitchen standards
• Interest in Filipino food is a plus, but willingness to learn is just as important

Compensation Note

Starting pay depends on experience. An introductory rate may apply during the first 90 days, followed by a wage review based on attendance, reliability, performance, and overall fit.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.50 per hour
