LEAD Filipino

LEAD Filipino is currently hiring temporary Field Canvassers to help us Get out the Filipino Vote [GOTFV] for California’s Primary Election on June 2, 2026. Work alongside other Canvassers in a shared effort to contact Filipino, Asian American Pacific Islander and Santa Clara County residents and ensure voter turnout for this important election. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to calling voters, knocking on doors, dropping Election Day literature and helping to build LEAD Filipino’s contact with community members. No previous canvassing experience is required, as our team will train, prepare and equip all field team members with the resources and materials needed to be successful in this campaign.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meaningfully engage with Filipino and AAPI voters through phone banking and door-knocking events.
  • Meet all contact and engagement goals defined for every phone banking and door-knocking shift.
  • Diligently track phone calls and door-knocks during shifts.
  • Submit daily end-of-day (EOD) canvasser reports to the Field Lead to ensure transparency, accuracy and completeness of voter engagement goals.
  • Create a welcoming environment for LEAD Filipino volunteers and community partners who may participate in canvassing and phone banking events.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be based in San José/Silicon Valley and have reliable transportation to commute to on-site canvassing and phone banking locations.
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be punctual, accountable, reliable and motivated to work independently and with a team.
  • An effective communicator who is comfortable facilitating group discussions and providing guidance and/or troubleshooting issues on the fly.
  • A deep commitment to civic participation, voter engagement and working with Filipino and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities.
  • Previous canvassing or campaign experience is preferred, but not required for this position.

COMPENSATION & OFFERINGS

  • $23/hour paid upon successful completion of the program and its goals.
  • Approximately 20 hours per week, Wednesdays-Thursdays, weekends with administrative time and occasional meetings between May 6, 2026 – June 3, 2026.
  • Snacks and beverages provided during in-person shifts.
  • Opportunities to develop professional relationships with other community-minded individuals and social justice organizations in Silicon Valley.
  • This is a temporary contract role; no benefits will be provided.
