Care, Not Control is seeking an individual with a dynamic skillset to lead the coalition’s base-building and organizing initiatives.
The Campaign Organizer is responsible for externally pushing forward the campaign demands in coordination with other Care, Not Control staff, external partners, and allies. The Campaign Organizer is expected to synthesize campaign strategy, research, and political education into coherent external organizing designed to advance campaigns and bring in new partners. The Campaign Organizer will be a part-time role up to 25 hours/week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Organizing Duties
- Drive the basebuilding + recruitment of community partners across Pennsylvania
- Lead development of, and run campaign/coalition partner meetings and trainings
- Maintain consistent communication with C,NC team and partners via e-mail, meetings, etc.
- Maintain and update Care, Not Control campaign plan
- Co-lead Care, Not Control projects and programming with Director
- Other duties as assigned
Coordinating Political Education
- Co-lead professional development of Youth Leaders with Director
- Develop and maintain political education curriculum for campaigns
- Coordinate with other external partners to create joint political education trainings
- Work with communications and cultural organizing staff and consultants to push political education work out broadly
- Conduct political education trainings publicly for coalitions and community members
Requirements
- Ability to work independently
- 5+ years of organizing experience, including experience leading a team
- Ability to travel for partnerships across PA and other professional engagements at least 5x/year
- An in-depth understanding of the criminal and juvenile justice system
- Strong and effective verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; experience and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to organize and coalition-build to elevate community priorities into policy changes
- A passion for community engagement and social change
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $31.25 - $41.60 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
