Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) proudly stands as the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering 5,400 TK-College students across 29 sites from East Palo Alto to Daly City. Position Overview
The
Future Grads Program is a college success program that equips first-generation students with the skills they need to overcome obstacles on their way to college graduation. While our program includes counseling on how to apply, complete financial aid forms and choose the right college, we also develop our students’ social and emotional skills, including how to ask for help, access resources, build support networks and maintain confidence. Future Grads supports its students to and through college graduation.
The College Success Manager will work throughout San Mateo County, with assignments and locations determined by caseload needs and numbers. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as the role requires traveling to different school sites and community locations to meet students where they are.
The College Success Manager will work with the high school team to provide the resources, support, tools and navigational skills students need to successfully pursue and complete higher education. The College Success Manager will work with a caseload of high school senior students to help them with the college application process and play a key role in ensuring seamless implementation of the Future Grads program. This program addresses the need for quality college advising in a community where few parents have historically attended college and where first-generation youth are not receiving the services they need to achieve their postsecondary goals.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement Future Grads Senior Programming: program goals, activities, and schedules at all our partner campuses and virtually as needed
- Manage 12th grade Future Grads caseload of 150 students from JUHSD, SSFUSD or SUHSD to maintain student engagement and help them pursue their postsecondary goals
- Execute Future Grads programming (college readiness after-school workshops, college and financial aid application support, personal narrative writing sessions, caregiver meetings, and more) in collaboration with the Future Grads High School team and the greater High School and Post Secondary Success Department
- Build relationships with students and understand their post-secondary interests
- Establish and hold your students accountable to action plans
- Maintain organized student records and tracking of program activities, including logging services on Salesforce database accurately and on time
- Develop & cultivate partnerships with our partner high school campuses in JUHSD,SSFUSD and SUHSD districts through on-site school presence
- Manage communication with students, families, school staff, volunteer coaches, and other partners
- Ongoing presence at our School Site Locations
- Support collaborative college success and high school programs at BGCP across San Mateo County
- Required to travel to different regions multiple times a month
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Spanish, Tagalog, Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, or Portuguese language ability strongly desirable
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years working with high school aged youth
- Ability to guide students through high school completion, college application processes, and financial aid systems.
- Experience steering youth through the college application process
- Experience working with high school counselors who work with youth on the college application process
- Background working in an ethnically diverse community and in meeting the needs of the groups represented in Daly City and South San Francisco
- Strong initiative, self-starter, intrinsically motivated, problem solver
- Strong interpersonal skills and youth development experience
- Great organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, G-Suite, Salesforce, and Outlook
- Valid driver's license and driving history that would not disqualify you from insurance on BGCP's vehicles
LOCATION:
Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Redwood City, South San Francisco and Daly City, CA
(Travel throughout the Peninsula required)
Work Schedule
- School Year: Monday – Friday (10:00-7:00pm) Summer: Monday – Friday (9:00-6:00pm)
- With the possibility of additional morning, evening, or weekend hours to accommodate meetings with program partners, schools, caregivers, and special events
Salary & Benefits
- Employment Status: Full-Time Hourly
- Pay Range: $31-$34 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)
- Health Benefits: BGCP covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums; 50% for dependents

Onboarding Process
- BGCP will cover all onboarding process requirements
- Complete LiveScan and Checkr background check
- Undergo a TB test
- Participate in mandatory onboarding training sessions
