For over 25 years, Daly City Partnership (DCP) as a non-profit organization has provided comprehensive range of multi-generational programs to children, families and older adults with a mission to guide collaborative efforts and connect the community to services that promote well-being. Kapwa Kultural Center and Cafe (KKC) is currently a program under DCP.
KKC is dedicated to empowering Filipina/x/o youth, ages 16-24, through programs that leverage the transformative power of culture, creativity, community, and a holistic approach to mental health and well-being. The program fosters leadership skills, workforce preparedness, entrepreneurial mentorship, financial wellness, and positive cultural identity formation which collectively support overall well-being. In addition, the space serves as a vibrant hub celebrating Filipina/x/o culture and connecting the community to various mental health resources, events, and wellness workshops that utilize holistic healing practices, as well as expressive arts.
Position Overview
As a Business Development Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of business development strategies and operational processes that align with KKC’s goal to create a sustainable social enterprise. This position focuses on preparation, planning, and coordination to ensure the successful execution of specific earned income initiatives at the KKC space. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support:
- Assist in the coordination of daily business development activities to ensure smooth operations.
- Support the development and implementation of processes that enhance operational efficiency.
- Assist with inventory tracking, vendor coordination, and procurement processes.
- Help maintain records of supplies and resources to ensure seamless operations.
- Support the Business Development Manager and Operations Director in tracking budgets, expenses, and financial reports related to earned income projects.
- Support efforts to maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and community members.
Community and Partner Engagement:
- Support outreach efforts to engage community members, partners, and stakeholders.
- Assist in implementation of events that promote program visibility and community involvement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in business administration, project management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Financial literacy, including basic budgeting and record-keeping skills.
- Experience with event coordination, project planning, or community outreach is a plus.
- Familiarity with the local community, especially Filipina/x/o organizations, is a plus.
- Holds values of cultural humility, social justice, and anti-oppression in all aspects of work.
- Fluency in Tagalog/English preferred
Working Environment / Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in and around the KKC space in Daly City, subject to sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds.
- This position plays a crucial role in laying the groundwork for the successful implementation of KKC’s earned income strategies, contributing to the long-term sustainability and impact of the organization
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
