Duties

• Prepare and cook traditional Filipino dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring authentic flavors and presentation
• Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials that highlight Filipino cuisine
• Handle food with care, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen
• Manage food preparation tasks efficiently during busy service hours, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
• Support catering events by preparing large quantities of Filipino dishes while maintaining quality and consistency
• Maintain proper food handling procedures, including storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients to prevent spoilage
• Serve dishes promptly in a professional manner, ensuring guest satisfaction and timely delivery of meals

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required; a strong interest in Filipino cuisine is essential
• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within restaurants or the food industry
• Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food service best practices
• Skilled in food handling techniques with a focus on safety and sanitation standards
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in culinary techniques specific to Filipino cooking
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and proper kitchen hygiene practices
