Online Educator, Teacher, Tutoring Intern for K-12 (Remote / Hybrid)

LH is a local at-home startup from Silicon Valley seeking to further educate underrepresented and underperforming groups of children and young adults.

Our goal is to teach various common core subjects that will lead to productive, healthy, and enriching lives.

Subjects may include:

- English, Spanish, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Khmer

- Mathematics: Arithmetic, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Cal, Calculus

- History, Social Sciences

- and more...

Requirements:

- must have at least 3-5 years of teaching experience

- proficient with Windows PC or Apple Mac computer or laptop, electronic tablet such as iPad, Android tablet with stylus

- neat written handwriting on paper with pen or pencil, dry erase board, or electronic surface tablet

- good at explaining and simplifying difficult subjects to children and young adults with ESL

- a lifelong learner

- must be able to upload screen recordings and videos to a website, Facebook page, and / or YouTube as a .mov or .mp4 file

Nice to haves:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in education with Teaching Credential, though not required

- bilingual or multilingual explanations, proficient command of language

- familiar with Khan Academy styled teaching and learning tutorial videos on YouTube

- familiar with Coursera 'a la carte' style courses

- genuinely interested in a higher calling to further educate children and young adults from developing nations; we know you're not doing it for the money!
