Job Description

Kabayan Filipino Market is looking for a motivated Cashier to manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently. Cashier duties and responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, storing money and supplies, and keeping track of all transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a cashiering or customer service role. You should be available to work various shifts, including weekends. Ultimately, you’ll ensure all transactions run smoothly and will help us maximize customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Work experience as a cashier or in a customer service role

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide excellent customer service, address the needs of customers, and answer their questions in a timely and effective manner.
• Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of grocery products and aisle location. (e.g. conventional, organic, perishable, etc.)
• Assist with maintaining the inventory floor. (e.g. merchandising, facing products, pulling inventory, rotating perishable items, etc.)
• Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of back stock of grocery items.
• Aid with the breakdown and inspection of delivery/vendor orders.
• Accurately follow proper rotation practices when organizing and storing received deliveries.
• Assist with maintaining product displays on the sales floor, including accurate signage.
• Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation and safe work practices.
• Immediately reports safety hazards and violations to supervisors.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Read and Write Tagalog preferably
